Hang advises on patent prosecution for the electrical and computer science arts. She counsels businesses and individuals on patentability, invalidity, and noninfringement issues. Her client roster includes leading companies in the technology sector involved in image processing, cloud computing, operating system and application software, online video products, mobile applications, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and business methods.
Hang works closely with clients to frame their inventions in a global context and to understand how their innovations relate to the next generation of products. By building lasting, global relationships, Hang helps clients protect, manage, and leverage their critical IP in myriad markets and time zones. Her representative clients range from multinational corporations (e.g., Google and Red Hat) to higher education and research institutions (e.g., Columbia University), start-ups, and individual inventors.
Prior to joining MagStone Law, Hang worked at Lowenstein Sandler LLP, where she drafted patent applications, managed patent portfolios, performed due diligence, and provided general counseling to leading technology companies and start-ups. Earlier, she served as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This experience has allowed her to bring to bear the insights she gained regarding the USPTO’s inner workings and procedures and to leverage her insider’s perspective to provide strategic advice to clients.
Hang received her B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and a Juris Doctor （JD） degree from the Catholic University of America. She is admitted in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and registered to practice before the USPTO.
Hang has been a registered patent agent since 2008. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
